Patrick Kennedy was born the First
son of an Impoverished Gentleman in March
of 1758, in the city of Dublin
Ireland. From his earliest years, Patrick
was interested in the
Seas and a life on them, so as a young boy he learned
to sail and worked on
several small coastal defense Brigs as a cabin boy.
Once he was old
enough Patrick was torn between a life as a Sailor or as a
Marine, for he
was strong and very handy with a Cutlass. Patrick decided at
18 it was
time to head to the center of the civilized world to seek his fame
and
fortune, so off to London he went.
On his arrival to London,
Patrick applied to the Royal Navy and was
accepted as a Midshipman aboard
the H.M.S. Empire. He immediately departed
for the Summer Campaign of
1777 in the North Sea, and had a very successful season,
receiving a
promotion to Lieutenant and several mentions to the King.
After
his return to London, Patrick decided to train for the upcoming rescue
mission, and is even considering transferring to the Royal
Marines.
