
Mercenaries
A general campaigning on foreign soil may procure mercenary services on a monthly basis. For purposes of London en garde, three companies comprise a battalion. Nine companies, or three battalions, form a regiment. The table below lists costs for contracting said sell-swords, depending on unit type:

His Grace the Duke of Dunkirk, a general campaigning in Northern France, wants to augment Dunkirk's defenses by hiring a battalion of Swiss Guards. As Line Infantry with Military Ability 10, each company of Swiss Guards costs His Grace 2,000 Crowns per month of employment. For a battalion, Dunkirk must pay 6,000 Crowns per month.
