An essential for maintaining a gentleman's respectability, a Player Character's Fashion Ability Score appraises his discernment for décor. Possessing said skill at level 1 entitles a person some mean knowledge of dress: that one wears a waistcoat over a shirt! At the opposite end of the fashion spectrum, a man noticeably well dressed (Fashion Ability Score 10) attracts attention from all strata of society.
Macaronis desirous to improve their aesthetic appeal may pay for lessons at one of a number of institutions dedicated to the art of fashion. Each week spent per turn (month) raises the Fashion Ability Score as listed on the below table:

Training at a school of fashion elevates a student's Fashion Ability Score to a maximum of 6. Moreover, a Fashion Ability Score ranges from a minimum of 1 to an absolute limit of 10.
Aiming for greater notoriety, Sir Robert Merivel enlists Signore Francesco Testarossa. Recommendations in cloth, coiffure, and other important details radically alter Sir Robert's wardrobe. Thus, in three weeks of fashion reform, Sir Robert Merivel increases his Fashion Ability Score from 5 to 5.5 at the expense of 50 Crowns.
Certainly during the course of a gentleman's adventures in London Society, a PC must roll 1d6 in order to determine his Fashion Result at a social function - a Masked Ball per se. The value ascertained from the six-sided die - with respect to the character's Fashion Ability Score - procures the Fashion Result from the following table:

The Game Master (on behalf of Dr. Creed's player, Jayne Puyat) rolls a 5. A Fashion Result of 2 means that Doctor Creed's costume transported the wonders of the east to England!
Relative to Fashion Result, a player's Fashion Ability Score goes up or down according to the table below:

Finally, characters gain 1 Social Point for every 100 Crowns spent on costumes specifically for a social occasion.
