32.1 Who's Who in the British Royal family

32.2 Inviting Royalty to Parties:  Royalty may be invited to functions by Characters with a min SL of 14.  The Royal Family (or random parts of it) will attend on a Roll of 8+ (may be modified, also +1 per every 2 SL over 14,
(a level 8 favor is required to influence the roll)

32.3 Deaths, Births and Marriages in the Royal family will occure on a 12 (2d6). This will be checked once at the end of each month.

The Royal Court

32.4 The Court of King George III is where all powerful characters should strive to be recognised, and where true power rests. Court is full of intrigue and provides social opportunities for the high-climbers of London.  

32.5 Attendence is not compulsory for those invited, but is compulsory for Ministers when government is in session.  SP gained is equal to the difference between the King and the Character, plus carousing point.  The cost to attend Court is 25 Crowns per visitior (for new Cloths, Coaches, flowers, ect...)  The cost for mistresses must be paid.

32.6 There is a strict etiquette regarding Court, characters must make an etiquette check to be seen to be acting correctly in the presence of their betters. If the character fails his etiquette check, status points are lost and disfavour may be gained.

32.7  Persons invited to Court are as follows:

     All Ministers (except the CPS/CPH)
     Royal Physician
     Royal Botanist
     Royal Chemist
     Curator of Royal Library
     Royal Astronomer
     The King's Champion
     Grand Masters of Knightly orders
     All nobility of Baron & upwards
     All Lt Generals and Admirals
     Wifes and Mistresses of all the above
     Aides to the above (do not gain normal SP for attending, but do have an equal chance of notice)

32.8 All guests have a chance of attracting notice while at Grand Court or Grand Ball a 12 on (2d6) a member of the Royal Family has paid special attention to the Character.  A d6 determines the level of notice:

32.9 Additional court functions will be held in different places each month. Also, each week, special events may be organised at Court. Each month, 2d6 are rolled to determine the location of Court. +1 is added in Summer, and -1 in Winter.

32.10 For each week, Court activity is determined by rolling 2d6 and referring to the table above. If Court is in a Province that is in Rebellion, use a result of 11-13 (Frontier) instead. Next months Court activities will be published in the London Times each month.

32.11 Court activities are explained as follows (All SP gains or losses from the Skill check chart are doubled in Court, unless otherwise stated)

Grand Court

All people on the above guest list are invited, this is a simple social gathering for the King and Royal Family

Government

All Ministers (but not the CPS) are required to attend court this week to discuss affairs of State with the King. ( SP's are decided by Oratory Ability Check - results are doubled).

Addresses Province

The King will address the Province he is in. All characters that are members of that Provincial Government must attend. (SP's via Etiquette Check - results are doubled).

Grand Ball

The King organises a Grand Ball, which courtiers are invited to attend (No toadying to the King unless Triumphant Success in Etiquette - SP's doubled in the check) still chance of notice from the Royalty.

Addresses Troops

King will choose 1 regiment at the frontier to address. All characters in that regiment gain 6 SP for this month.

Envoy

The King receives a foreign envoy, of a rank indicated in the table below. Some members of the Government, indicated by the Ministers column, must attend Court. The King may throw a Grand Ball to celebrate the occasion, if the number shown or more is rolled on a d6.

Audience with the King:

32.12 Characters attending Court man request an audience with the King.  The Royal Steward organises who gets an audience with the King, and will grant them on a 7+ (may be influenced - level 7). Bonuses to the roll are as follows:

Senior Minister (State/War/Justice&Shipping) & Dukes +4
Other Ministers, CPS, & Earls +3
Colonel of Guard's regiment, Royal Navy Admiral, King's Champion & Counts +2
Captain of King's Escort, Captain of the King's Yacht & Viscounts +1

32.13 Characters may request an audience once per month in conjunction with a Grand Court or Grand Ball visit.Only one Audience will be granted per season.  If an audience is granted by the Royal Steward, the Character is presented to the King, an etiquette check is required (double the normal results).  If the check succeeds, the character will be granted a Royal Favor or assign a Royal Disfavor to one of his enemies (in the orders).  If the Character fails the etiquette check, then a Royal Disfavor befalls the character in Audience of the King.
